Amazing sky, photo from our workshop window
Our clothing and soft furnishings are all made in our workshop in Princetown, a village high on Dartmoor and home of the infamous prison.
We have been making our uniquely styled and comfortable clothing since 1996, starting in a spare bedroom, moving into our garage and then a large tent on the lawn. We moved into the Duchy Yard Complex in 2007 before finally taking on our lovely Old Duchy Estate Workshop in 2011.
From our windows we enjoy far reaching views over dartmoor and occasionally, if the weather is clear, a glimpse of Plymouth Sound (I'm surprised we ever get any work done).
Visitors to the workshop are most welcome but please phone first to make sure we are there. Tel: 01822 890700.
Inside the workshop is an array of our items
Peter Banfield is our company secretary and keeps the books in relevant order along with the minor but necessary day to day property repairs that always need doing.
Angela Keast is our expert seamstress, she has been sewing since leaving school and before that as well making her first dress at 10 years old! In the past, Angela has made wedding dresses, mens suits and covered sofas so her work with our lovely leisure clothes has been a welcome change.
Shel Haddy has recently joined us for a few hours each week and specialises in making hats, scarves and throws. When not working for us, she is a trained saddler and pursues her equestrian interest.
Helena Ancil, a long standing customer and friend, runs our Pannier Market stall on Wednesday's and Thursday's. Helena trained in and taught drama before joining us so takes our minor histrionics in her stride!
And finally...Just to explain. Elli and Rupert, our founders, were two charming dogs. Elli was a dachshund and Rupert a springer spaniel.
